Beware Android users - 300$ awaits you!!

"Broke the law Pay fine" says emerging malware - Ransomware. It started with computers and now attacking mobile devices. It displays a pop-up and blocks every functionality of your phone. It's a very successful method that law enforcement agencies used to track people surfing through suspicious websites and now the same is being used by HACKERS.

The pop-up pretends to be from cyber security or a law enforcement agency such as FBI stating that it's a security breach and you are supposed to pay fine. As android poses the major market share and is more malware prone compared to iOS, android is their target 🎯. Thanks to Google Play Store for not distributing this malware through it's APKs. Your device gets effected through 'drive by download' - which is an unaware intrusion. It can also be from porn sites, unrecognized or unauthorised video players, or from a website that hosts malicious code and injects itself into your device without any prompt and BHOOOM YOUR DEVICE IS HACKED, YOU CAN SAY HI TO RANSOMWARE.

Latest news on ransomware adds more accessibility to hackers by not only locking your device but also to take pictures and to make or take a call. Yes, it's remote access of your device to hackers.

How to be safe from ransomware is all dependent on you and your usage of mobile phones. If security plays a major than loss of data then flashing is one method. "Never grant administrative privileges to unrecognized software " says phonearena. A list of web servers is not available but downloading APKs through sketchy websites is a sure way to get infected.
