This new/last line in the Terms and Conditions says it all:

"All Internet/data packs or plans (through which customer can avail discounted rate) shall only be valid for internet browsing and will exclude VoIP (Both incoming/ Outgoing). VoIP over data connectivity would be charged at standard data rates of 4p / 10 KB (3G service) and 10p / 10 KB (2G service)." 

Will have to wait if other carriers would also follow this path or not.  Rumors suggest that Idea and Vodafone are on the line. TRAI has agreed to charge for VoIP calling.

The rumors about Whatsapp to introduce voice-calling is found to be genuine. Recent screenshots reveal that voice-calling is possible.There hasn't been any official announcement yet.

Bought by Facebook, Whatsapp with voice calls screenshots reveal the following:

• It provides various screens each for - call history, call handling (incoming/outgoing calls), call status and the other for contacts.
• Probability that the voice calls can be recorder and played back at any time.
• Facebook hasn't confirmed about the pricing yet, but it's assumed that it will be available at no cost and ad-free. 
• First release for iOS and Android. Nokia and blackberry devices would be delayed.

Fans around the world have been eagerly waiting for the next season of the GoT and mean while we have something utterly delicious news.

For all the GoT lovers, Telltale Games presents you it's upcoming mobile title based on HBO's TV show and George R.R. Martin's Saga about Westeros and its various denizens. And hell yeah, you can now say that the winter its coming as a Game ;-)



In December 2013, Telltale announced the Game of Thrones title at the 2013 Spike VGX video game awards program and also that this game would be similar to their previous titles  'The Wolf Among Us' and 'The Walking Dead'.

The GoT game will have 5 characters and the story is divided into 6 episodes. Locations would include King's Landing and The Wall, Ironrath, the Home of House Forrester

'Iron From Ice',  the first episode will be available soon on PC,Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS. Android users should have to wait a little more.

Telltale also revealed that in each installment of the game You will play as a different character and the entire story goes with the choices that you make while playing the game.

"Telltale's CEO Don Conners explained that the Game will not be a prequel to the television series, that the established world and the timeline of Game of Thrones is allowing Telltale to explore fixed stories in more depth, to appeal to players." (Source Wiki)

I got Goosebumps when I heard about The Game Awards 2014! It's so special because video gaming is about to get its own version of the Oscars.

Going live in december from the AXIS Theater in Las Vegas and one could stream through PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam and other platforms.

The giants are taking part in it. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and all major games publishers -  EA, Ubisoft, Konami, Warner Bros, Rockstar and Valve teamed up to this new annual award game show.

"On December 5, games will rise when the video game industry comes together to celebrate the cultural significance of the world's most dynamic form of entertainment" , the website says.

The Game Awards 2014 will include awards, world premiere announcements, musical performances and other surprises.

" The Game Awards 2014 will celebrate our collective live of games and the passion we all hold in our hearts for this incredible entertainment medium," Game Trailers TV host and executive producer Geoff Keighley, who is producing the awards and who formerly produced the Spike Video Game Awards(VGX) , which is unaffiliated with The Game Awards.

"The Game Awards isa special event to honor the achievements in gaming, our talented developers and devoted fans. We look forward to celebrating the power of games this December", said Ubisoft's Guilemont.

Well,  there is no information about who is nominating the games, who is voting for the game and who is judging the games to be awarded at The Game Awards.

The upcoming GM system makes the drivers to use their smartphones with the dashboard buttons, touchscreen or voice commands.

Harman CEO Dinesh Paliwal said :
"As you would expect, this next generation infotainment solution will enable an app store, which allows this infotainment system to stay technologically relevant over the life cycle of the vehicle. Apps will be developed by General Motors, Harman and a bunch of other third parties, not just Google and Apple."

Not only android,  But BlackBerry QNX and Microsoft are in use with GM OSes. GM also plays as a partner with both Google's Android Auto and Apple's CarPlay.

Xiaomi poses threat to your data? Think twice before you chose one

Known for its high end, low budget smartphones Xiaomi poses a large market share in no time. Chinese manufacturer at the moment ranks 3rd largest mobile manufacturer in the world.

Having won many hearts in and out of the country, entitled as 'Apple of China' is happening to be on the same line as Apple. We heard of security concerns with Apple and now Xiaomi poses a threat reports claim.

A Hong Kong user claimed that somehow the Xiaomi device is connected to the IP and shares the numbers(mobile numbers) when SMSes are sent to remote servers at China.

Also, IAF (Indian Air Force) alerted its commands and family not to use Xiaomi phones as they track location and send the information to servers across China.

It's even said that Taiwanese government claimed on Xiaomis security and would revert within three months.

New Indian Express reported that:
"F-secure, a leading security company has made a test on Redmi 1s, and said that it's sharing IMEI number, carrier name, mobile number along with numbers in the address book/phone book back to Beijing".

In response Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra said that the data is completely secure and is encrypted with AES-128 algorithms which is impossible for anyone to hack through, even Xiaomi employees will not be able to decrypt the data.

He even added that they have many customers from India and they can't lose their share/revenue from them. Over 2.5 lakh units were sold at India. The data is sent to the servers located at Singapore and U.S.A. They are even ready to setup a data server for Indian customers at India for their security.

Going in depth with the statement of Barra on setting up a data server at India, it seems that there are security issues. But it also might be a plan on not to lose Indian customers.

Apple's MAC OSX HACKED!!

Yes, its true - A flaw that affected 17000+ macs already is on the go. Are you a mac user? Then, get ready and take precautions on how not to get affected with the new Scary flaw :-o

Ooops..!!! No one might never expect that Apple would fall down to this stage. There are already repeated complaints regarding bendgate of new iPhone, a security flaw in iOS, bluetooth connectivity issues and now a security issue with mac.

Russian security company Dr.web discovered a new worm by name "Mac.BackDoor.iWorm". The mac first gets affected with this worm and then it tries to connect to command server. The worm then tries to use Reddits search function so as to look out for hackers comments in a Minecraft subreddit. Dr.web also stated that there hasn't been any attack till date but may be that the hackers are looking to spread their network.

This has spread all over the world with United States having the highest number of attacks. The list goes here:

The malware gets the IP address of a valid command and control (C&C) server from a post on popular news site Reddit. Quite interestingly, the malware can also detect what other softwares are installed on mac, opening port, sending a query to a web server to acquire address of C&C servers and bhooom you are hacked...!!!



There is no word on how this virus is spreading but you can check if you are infected or not.
To check to see if you are infected, go to the Finder and choose Go to Folder from the Go menu. Copy the following path and paste it into the window that opens:
/Library/Application Support/JavaW

If no folder opens then you are safe else if a new windows is launched then the probability is high that you are infected. What you can do is to:

•  uninistall everything and install everything from scratch
• restart from a back-up point , which may or may not clean your system 

You may be thinking on - How to prevent from being attacked? Well, few say that as it's not known how this malware is getting installed so there is no way to prevent it while upon my research there are two ways you can prevent this happening:

1. Set up reverse firewall by using - Little  Snitch and  Intego NetBarrier
2. Set up folder actions to monitor whether your files are affected or not. Click here to know how.

Recent security inflaw, bendgate problem and now bluetooth connectivity issue. What's going on with Apple?  Well bending is not the only problem, as iPhone 5/5S had bending problems, Oppo Find 5 , Samsung Galaxy S4 and also Sony Xperia Z1.



What more then?  users have reported that there are issues with bluetooth connectivity. This is observed in new models iPhone 6,6+ and also iOS 8. With no intent to answer regarding bendgate of its latest flagship and now the issues are bumping up.



The bluetooth connectivity issues are found when pairing with other iPhones, cars audio system, bluetooth headset. Few users however successfully connected to their bluetooth devices by resetting everything which leads to the loss of data in icloud drive. Seriously Apple?  The problems seems to go on increase  from day to day.

Beware iOS users!! Security flaw in Apple iOS 8.0 and iOS 8.0.2

With its recent iPhones being launched, booming up technology with its new Applepay and iwatch but also few issues with iPhone bending and other bugs, now there is even a security flaw in iOS latest version(8.0.2)


YouTube user EverythingApplesPro  found a security flaw involving Apple's iOS 8 Touch ID and Passcode.

Gizmodo confirms that it's just Touch ID registering after having further tests performed before which it said was fake.

The process shown in the video is simple and goes like this: When you ask Siri a question on the lock screen and as Siri starts thinking up the answer, hit the home button and swipe right and thus lacking the security which surpasses Apple's iOS 8 security defenses and any stranger can break into your iPhone.


This glitch is very rarely observed and may be Apple hits back with latest firm in no time as it's  best known for meticulous efforts.

Threat from Skype!!

Do you know that the most frequently used software's pose a threat to us??

Skype, first introduced in August 2003 and later bought by Microsoft in 2011 for $8.5 billion at any given time approximately runs with 35 million people. DO YOU KNOW IT POSES A THREAT ?

Yes, using Skype might expose your data to hacker. Why? And how?

Skype is a peer to peer network in which voice calls pass over the internet rather than through a special purpose network. Skype users search for other users to connect to, enabling them to search for other Skype users and send them messages. Interestingly, the name Skype derived from the concept "Sky Peer to peer".
What happens in Peer to peer(P2P) networking is that when you wanted to share information with your friends/colleagues , you must open a TCP PORT through the firewall for the P2P software to communicate. And once you open that port you are no longer protected from malicious traffic that comes through. They might send a file, a Trojan in specific and if  by chance you download and install it, then your data is open to the hackers. Hacking is so evolved that even if you don't download the file, it may happen as a background process which I posted in my other blog - RANSOMWARE.

P2P is not so secured and thus the reason why many of the corporate industries don't use Skype unless they have taken precautions. Also P2P can introduce latency.

There are many other VoIP(Voice over IP) software's like uberconference, ooVoo, VSee,Jitsi, Ekiga, Empathy, Nimbuzz, Wechat, Viber, Google hangouts.
There might be a threat from Facebook video chatting as well because it's powered by Skype and hence the P2P.

 The torrent software's (bit torrent, u torrent) are other mostly used P2P software's. Take care while using P2P software's.

Tech-giant Apple welcomes Healthcare Industry with its latest iPhone 6 on 9th September 2014

Few more days and we have the most awaiting event, the biggest launch event of Apple on September 9th in Cupertino, California. Well, many of us know that Apple is about to release iPhone 6 probably with 4.7 inch scratch resistant screen using a new process to build sapphire-glass laminate or may be 5.5 inch screen or both models. But there is something interesting that Apple is planning to.




In June 2014, Apple announced its first partnerships with hospitals and health organizations and also with the launch of Healthkit software for developers. The software will help in developing apps for a broad range of medical needs.



Why do we need technology? Why are we upgrading it? What is the outcome? Apple already proved it to be a tech giant and now Apple says there is more to do and it's next step is towards Health industry.


Dr Mohammed Al-Ubaydi runs Patients Know Best,a startup that helps to share medical records securely between doctors and patients. He says" healthcare is fundamentally an information industry. It's about knowing the right thing about the right patient at the right time. The information tools currently available are poor and there's a large opportunity for tech companies to fix that."

Sit together with your friends and make a list of questions that comes from your mind.There may be students who have good questions in their mind but are nervous and can't raise that question. Analyze those questions, re-frame them so that it's the best probable question that can be asked of that particular kind and put those questions to the team on the day they visit your campus. You may group with your class mates and for a larger perspective you can discuss with your friends from different branches and then form questions. Cortana is live..! Windows 8.1 is rolling out
